Philosophy to Cognitive Science/Computing in General

Has anyone managed to make the jump from a philosophy BA to the cognitive science MSC?

What did you do to get on to it? Was there a lot of preparation in advance, or had you already had quite a bit of experience with programming/mathematics?

How difficult are you finding the course, particularly the mathematics and programming elements, are you limited in terms of the modules you're allowed to take or would be able to cope with?

Why do they let philosophy students on/ mention them in the accepted undergraduate degrees, is it just to boost application numbers?

What kind of work can you get afterwards? Is it a good idea, possible to do it over 3 years and work part-time?
