    You've got slightly confused as to when to introduce that value n into the proceedings. When you solve 24 - 7i = A e^{i \phi}, you only need the principal value of \theta = \tan^{-1}(7/24). You then need to solve for the zeros of the cosine function 3t - \tan^{-1}(7/24) = (n+1/2)\pi .
