    Hi folks
Do you decide university base on the general university ranking or the course ranking?
Nottingham is 4th in the world uni ranking( pharmacy) but 25th in general uk ranking
UEA is 11th in the uk pharmacy ranking but 15th on the general uk ranking
Anyone have any suggestion which one to choose?

Hi, I think if you can it would be a good idea to go and have a look around. Rankings are important but the atmosphere on campus, the vibe you get from the teaching style and also their level of post graduate employment is also critical.
I went to look at both Nottingham and UEA, and even with the same degree the course structure and facilities were so different.

Rankings mean naff all to be honest. As someone mentioned above, your best option would be to visit both uni's and make an informed choice after; especially since both the universities and individual course structures are so different.

Looking at Unistats (which is a great resource to find out happy students are studying the courses are different institutions) I can see both courses have high levels of satisfaction. UEA might slightly pip Nottingham in some areas (such as Library and IT facilities) but it looks like you'd be well positioned wherever you choose!

What I think is a strong selling point for UEA is our cost of living too. Comparing the two on Unistats you'll see we have cheaper rent options available in the private sector and on campus too, which could be useful to know if you're going to be on a tight budget.

As you say UEA is a Top 15 university, and we're also Top 3 for student satisfaction too (our students have ranked us Top 5 ever since the National Student Survey began) so we certainly have some very happy students.

Do book an Applicant Day or Campus Tour visit so you can see for yourself
