Hi hoping its ok to post/as this here.

I've yet to start college and I was going to go for a BTEC in IT (It's just called "Information Technology (Computing) - Level 3" on the college site) and is an extended diploma (the three A level equivalent) and also possibly an A level in Maths if I can but i'm not too sure about the practicality of doing that as well.

I've been looking at the Software Engineering and Computer Science degrees (both the BSc and BEng ones, dunno if that makes a difference) and it just said they ideally want AAA

I had a look at qualification requirements for students from England and they've said BTEC's aren't accepted apart from for some art degrees, is this absolutely true?

Would it not be worth it to bother applying? What if I were to do really well on my BTEC and get a result that's either equivalent or technically over AAA, like DDD - D*D*D*? (I assumed DDD would be AAA based off the UCAS tariff calculator, I know they might not actually use UCAS tariffs.)

    Thanks in advance.

IF they say they don't accept BTEC then they don't accept them.

      see here http://www.ed.ac.uk/studying/undergr...ments/ruk/btec

It would therefore be a waste of time to apply as they will automatically reject you .

I know that isn't what you wanted to hear.

You could of course get in touch with them if you have particular circumstances that have affected your education. sorry

3 spoons of coffee can make 600ml of coffee, 3 tea bags can make 600ml of tea.

The thing is, I'm in the mood for tea not coffee.

      I hope this helps

Well I guess in this case the cup would be your brain and the water would be the ink you use to write/print
