I have a Macbook Pro 15″ 2014 through DSA. In Feb 2015 I rang and asked for a claims form, mentioning damage to my screen although never continued with this claim as it was usable and I had heaps of uni deadlines due. I continued with a somewhat dull screen with lines through for two years as I never got round to filling out a claims form. Last month I dropped the laptop, closing the lid on the headphones inside.
Filled out the claims form and they responded with “Dear Jessica,
Further to your dispute in respect of your recent claim on the above numbered policy, we write to advise that unfortunately you will be unable to make a claim on this occasion.
Having established cover currently provided by your policy it appears that there has been previous damage to the equipment in February 2015 similar to the damage which you are now claiming for. Furthermore you have advised in your original claim and in your dispute that this damage was not repaired following a claim under your policy. Due to this fact, it is apparent that the claim has not met the general conditions of your policy. If you refer to your policy wording, it states under the general conditions section that following notifying us of any damage to your equipment, you must take precautions to prevent further damage:
“You must also:
a) Take precautions to prevent further damage to the Equipment (the Insurer will not be liable for any further damage resulting from the continued use of Equipment before the Equipment has been repaired to the satisfaction of the Insurer)”
As the previous damage was not repaired, we are now unable to confirm whether the damage you are currently claiming for was caused by the incident reported or whether it has been caused by continued use of the already damaged equipment.
Please do not respond to this email.
If you are unhappy with the decision made on your claim, then please see attached a copy of our complaints procedure. This outlines the next step in the claims process.
Please note any false or inaccurate information given can not only invalidate your claim, but is also a crime by law.
How should I proceed?

Theres not alot you can do =/ It's all in the conditions that you signed..they won't pay to fix it as you didn't send it in before...
Also i'm guessing you're in your 3rd year? They'll also try and wiggle out of it due to the fact that it's only meant to cover you through uni and since you've got through the bulk of uni with it broken why fix it now?
