My EPQ is about the efficiency of combustion engines. I have decided to email various companies in order to gain information about their work on the matter. However, I'm unsure as to who to contact exactly. Car manufacturers seem to only have a general customer service email. Would this be usable? Are there any individuals/companies in particular that would be worth contacting for info?

    Any advice appreciated

Try to find contact details for their press and pr team. They'll be able to help you quicker than most customer services team (and you won't be asking people who are rated by how many queries they hand (cust services) to spend a long time on a query from someone who isn't going to buy a car!).

Do you absolutely require this information from a variety of different car manufacturers? This information sounds like it could be confidential to said manufacturer. Could you maybe look at the general science (thermodynamics) behind engine efficiency instead?

That's essentially what I'm doing. My working title is the maximum theoretical efficiency of engines. The only problem is that I need a range of sources and I thought that getting an 'expert' opinion would be useful, even if it's just a general idea of what they believe the future of development will be.

For sources I've used websites and documentaries. I'm going to look for books on the subject too if I can. It's tough finding a range of sources to include when all it takes is google to find out everything I need.
