I'm currently studying a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in performing arts. I haven't yet completed all my units I currently have 3 merits 2 Passes and 7 Distinctions. What Grade am I currently working at? As I cannot work it out and I would like to achieve a D*D*D overall

It's difficult to say. Assuming you are doing 18 units overall you're working somewhere from a D*D to MM I'd guess. Are those Distinctions at 100% of theh marks? If so they'd equate to D*

I'm not entirely sure it is possible to get D*D*D with your current grades. 6 units is worth a grade and you've done 12 so far. If you got perfect marks on your remaining 6 units you'd have 13 Distinctions, 3 Merits and 2 Passes. 12 perfect (or near perfect) Distinctions is D*D* but I really doubt 1 Distinction, 3 Merits and 2 Passes will average to a D. That said grading doesn't quite work like that. IIRC it takes an average overall. I think you are more likely to get DMM than D*D*P for example.
