That's not a question that you of all people need to ask. But expect quite an extensive array of educational reforms in the near future, and I expect you are. As for legislation we will be focusing on improving the two items we already have in the House (a bill to remove mandatory life sentences and a bill to greatly improve the organ transplant status quo). We will also likely seek to amend the recently passed bill allowing fathers to surrender parental responsibility. Once these issues are resolved we will move on to infrastructure and environmental policy - a shift in approach that will likely coincide with the yet undated cabinet reshuffle.
I know, but as I was asking as if I can't in fact just wander around the government subforum

Educational reforms sound good. I'm sure I'll find something so say.

Grand. Quite the plan. Definitely in favour of removing mandatory life sentences

As a neutral observer, I should probably point out at this juncture that ByronicHero has more experience of both government and opposition than everyone else in this thread put together.

    Indeed :yep:

If we combine you, Birchington, Toronto, Saoirse, Rakas, Ray, and Saracen - we surely have the ultimate megazord of MHoC experience.

Haha. I won't comment as it'd be impolite

If someone wants to photoshop all of our avatars onto a megazord though I won't object

Surely that isn't particularly neutral for the still incumbent speaker of the house...

Just because you're leaving the office tomorrow doesn't mean your duties are relaxed.

So far, if I alone were a party I'd be at least twice as active as any other. Many times more active than several. Add various other active ex-MPs to the party and I think that any Speaker not approving the formation would be a laughing stock. Sure, they have the power to do it, but I choose to think better of Petros and adam. :dontknow:

Not really, I'm just commenting that this party has not yet been approved.

It's not biased. It's a genuine risk. You're betting your MHoC positions on whatever new speaker allows the party to form.

Ah ok, I took that the wrong way as if it was you saying "this isn't gonna work", sorry for the misunderstanding.

See previous post, but also refer to Byronic's, if they reject us now there's something fishy going on: we've submitted more legislation than the greens and UKIP combined this term, we are at the 10 member rule also. If either of the candidates blocks it then that is very dubious and I can't see them remaining Speaker for long, regardless though, PetrosAC has already said that he won't be blocking us and the most he'll ask for is perhaps a few more members, and that was only a 'maybe.'

As for Adam, he hasn't spoken about it specifically, but I believe he said he's in favour of more parties forming.

I noted down everything they said in the Speaker debate:

    Adam

"I definitely think there is room for more parties; and if there were active support for a party, I would like to see it happen."

"Personally, I would like to set a precedent of a quota of 3 active MHOCers and 2 outsiders, or 1-2 active MHOCers and 4-5 outsiders. Something similar to those independent party groupings that tried to get past in an amendment a while ago, I would support that!"

"I would look for a minimum of 1 stand alone non dual member from the MHOC in the party, then class every further dual member as = to 1/2 an active MHOCer"

    Petros

"If the party trying to form has 5 or 6 active members, I'd be more than likely to give it the all clear (assuming it was broadly in a niche position and all that). I'm not going to have parties trying to form that are as active as the Greens or UKIP currently are. In terms of niche positions, left-authoritarian, centre authoritarian and right-libertarian."

"As for the point on dual members in new parties in your later post, whilst they'd be considered in any decision made, 3 or 4 active members that aren't duals would probably be necessary before duals come into consideration."

I wish all the defectors the best of luck. Helping to create a new party from scratch, albeit one that has previously been created, will be challenging but hopefully very rewarding.
