Seems a bit odd to allow the formation of a party (and to allow them to stand in a GE) if they haven't got their own subforum. Not sure I like the idea of a party conducting all of their internal business off-site.
It is not the libertarians fault that the CT haven't created a sub, so I do not wish this to hamper their MHOC activities!

Acting leader? What's happened to Byronic??
A misunderstanding caused him to become acting leader but everything is ok with Byronic and the party

I'm no longer interested in joining, the situation is a bit of a farce really.

Well, my intention was to stand down as soon as the subforum was there. As such, I wasn't bothering with the MHoC. In that time, several members decided I must have left so Gladstone became acting leader, I believe until I returned though that isn't clear. Either way, as soon as Adam posted earlier my job was over so I wished them the best and asked Adam to transfer this thread to them (which has now been done). I was asked if I would be returning to the party, to which I answered that I would not. I will try to externally keep an eye on their activity for the next couple of months to make sure it remains sufficient and will likely once again brute-force the issue myself if necessary. I am confident, however, that they now have a good core membership and will ride that into the next GE. They have a number of members who routinely offer sustained debate and I know from private dealings with them that they have plenty of ideas that should cause debate in the house. To my knowledge, my personal relationship with them is the same as it was previously, though you'd have to ask them if there is any ill-will about me leaving or not.

My goal was always to make sure the party formed, it was never to play any active part in it beyond that point.

So, no controversy I'm afraid . I consider myself to have achieved what I wanted to. Now I need to work out how to save UKIP again

I think what you have done has been admirable and I think it is safe to say that without you, the resurrected Libertarian Party would not have come about.

    Thanks

I'm glad to have contributed to the increased diversity of ideas being debated here. Libertarianism is incredibly interesting, and offers some divergent solutions to perpetual issues. Whatever one might think of those ideas, they are well worth knowing about and discussing. I think it is hard to be a social democrat, socialist or whatever else, without considering fundamentally the extent to which people should surrender their rights to a government, and in which circumstances. Libertarianism is obviously the most forceful vehicle for making people do that. They are also ideologically the most likely to introduce very divisive bills here.

In short, the MHoC is better with them than without them.

I would suggest the Libertarian party find a free off-site forum until the CT have got their **** together.

    Planning a defection?
Doubt it - it'd mean removing himself from his position of un-objected power, which he so loves.
