Yes, would you like to join?
Err...maybe. I think the UK libertarian party talks common sense, unlike those Illiberal Undemocrats.
Could you please tell me more what you stand for, briefly?

I like you already, we really aren't lib dems

More direct democracy and more liberty by removing laws that restrict things like free speech are 2 of the things we have pushed this term, I would answer more in depth but I'm tired

Just want to point out to you that it's actually not the Labour Party's fault for not calling a General Election. Given that Theresa May called a GE for the 8th June, it's technically the speaker's prerogative to call a GE and there's little that the Prime Minister can do. Nonetheless, good luck with your other commitments and I'm sure the Libbers will be in good hands under a new leader.
Yes it is, you should have called it before all that happened.

Drug decriminalisation and removing laws that restrict free speech . We support lower , flatter taxes and we support replacing the welfare state with a negative income tax. We believe in economic liberalism and are true neoliberals. We also support partial privitazation of the NHS Any more questions just ask.

It's important to note that on the MHoC there are no Liberal Democrats; we're the Liberal Party. Although some of us affiliate with the party irl (me for instance) there are members that aren't and we also have mixed views of Brexit as a whole (I supported leave).

You cannot deny that the Libertarians formed as somewhat of a splinter group in the Liberal Party as we were disgruntled with your economic stance though?

I think that is what James is getting at.

    Greetings,

Due to events in my personal life that will hinder my TSR abilities over the course of the next month and especially in June, and the failure of Labour to hold a timely election, I will be stepping down as leader of the Libertarians immediately. In the days following this announcement, and election for my replacement will take place, and I will remain neutral.

Whoever is selected I am confident will do a great job in the position, as those individuals who have put their names forward are each competent and credible in their own ways. PetrosAC please remove any special forum powers I have, god knows I didn't use any of them

In the interim, the party will be governed as a socialist utopia (dystopia) with each member owning, but simultaneously not owning, an equal stake in the operations and management, or lack thereof, until a replacement is installed. Of course I am just kidding, I'd rather like our party to survive and our members not go hungry.

    Ta ta!
    - Andrew
The way you mention 'events in your personal life' but then try to somehow blame my party for you feeling you cannot lead your party is just poor form. It was never our responsibility to act in a way that was convenient to you and not doing so certainly isn't a failure on our part. Take some damned personal responsibility.

PS. Best wishes to the outgoing party leader and good luck to the candidates for succession.

The "events in my personal life" would not have prevented me from leading the party through this general election. Your incompetence has, however, and I'm not blaming your party, I'm blaming you specifically

    Incompetence?

I have no problem with being 'blamed' for the departure of your party's leader.

I would support most of that. Negative income tax is interesting, how would you support the unemployed and disabled? And where would the extra taxation be to pay for this?

I think you have got the wrong idea of what a negative income tax .
It is a replacement for the welfare state , there are varying models but it basically guarantees everyone an income and it always pays to work and the payments taper of as you reach the tax exemption rate.

I am excited to announce the appointment of julen as our new Spokesperson for Civil Liberty & Culture. He has proven himself a very active participant in forum discussion recently and we wanted to give him this opportunity. This highlights the Libertarian Party's commitment to engaging with new members and helping them become part of the MHoC in a variety of ways. We look forward to statements of policy from julen in the coming months as our party pursues major policy goals such as drug decriminalization and public smoking.

I don't like to use memes as it dumbs down the level of interaction, but it's probably on a level of something you understand as Libertarians.

With the conclusion of the Libertarian Leadeship election, there were 20 votes cast in total and I'm very proud of this high turnout.

The next leader of the party is _gcx, who won by a margin of 12-8. Both candidates were highly qualified and either one would have led the party toward success. It is time now to unite under George and proceed with the challenges that lay in our wake.

There will now be a Deputy leadership election to replace George!
