I'm currently in Year 10 and I'm doing an online school however it is quite pricey and I'm not seeing the type of learning I'd like to get (I'd like it to be more advanced). I've always been able to learn independently with not many problems so I'm just wondering would it be possible/does it seem possible to just drop the online school and teach myself instead? (I will be taking IGCSE's next year and I would really like to aim for good/decent grades eg. anything from A*-C)

Jesus, I didn't realise you could do secondary school over the Internet. Anyway, yes it's possible, and to be honest, better. You can have a mediocre teacher waste an hour of your day telling you about the basics of the Haber process, or you can work at it yourself and finish the whole topic in an hour. I've learnt all my GCSEs myself due to clueless teachers/trainees and I'm looking at A* with an A here or there, so yes. Just buy the textbooks and work, simplez. GCSEs aren't rocket science.

Yeah, I actually only found out about online school last August! Anyways, I see what you mean by saying teachers can sometimes waste more time rather than be helpful. However, I'm stuck between the decision of learning (rather slowly and while also paying money) with a teacher and having support/assistance if I ever struggle or going at it myself.
