purpose of massage

Why do I only see massage as more of a thing that turns me on rather than a therapy thing? Id just be too embarrased and uncomfy to go to a therapist but from a girl a back/shoulder massage would be probably as good as sex and would really turn me on. Am I odd or do I have a mental problem? My mates sometimes get them done professionally so I can't ask them they would think im mad :frown:

It can be either. If it's done professionally (actually professionally, not a brothel masquerading as a massage parlour!), it's not as sensual and more about working tension out of muscles etc. It's very nice but leaves you feeling a bit mauled about afterwards.

I hardly think it's a mental problem - just that you haven't experienced it in a non-sexual context.

I would say that you need to experience a professional massage. I usually end up feeling like I went through a war zone at the end of it, but I ultimately feel relaxed.

I looooove massages. THey are seriously the best thing in the world....ever! If my boyfriend gives me a massage to try and turn me on I just end up soooo relaxed and sleepy. Hehe it has the opposite effect! Good massage over sex any day! In my weird opinion!

Lol, I'm weird. No, they don't turn me on. I'd rather have a massage and then fall asleep all relaxed, rather than have sex! Heh. Much to my BFs dismay.

Ive actually looked this one up (yea I know I am) and apparantly therapists are trained to expect and deal with it, for example covering private parts very well etc, so it can't be that uncommon.
