    That's fine. If they give one it will clearly be bad, so it is best you don't ask them for one and they don't give one. If that gives you trouble in getting your next job, it's because you are lazy and have bad timekeeping, and that's the whole point of references.

    improve your timekeeping and laziness then? they can't give you a positive reference if they have nothing positive to say.
