Might seem like a stupid question but my teachers haven't explicitly stated the importance of historiography in the exams? I'm on AQA - to what extent do I need to go in terms of historiography? Be able to quote specific historians or just have a general mention of what historians say about a certain event or topic?

    Thanks!

My teachers haven't told us that historiography is important at all in the exams, even in the source questions. It'd be fun to show off though!! I've done far too much reading and not enough analysis.

Historians are good for analysis, and also show critical thinking, especially if you can compare historians' opposing views. I don't know how important it is for AQA, so check with your teacher.
