    Please help answer the following CH4 + 2O2 -----> 2H2O + CO2 The volume of oxygen need in dm3 for the complete combustion of 272g of CH4

    First, using the molecular mass of CH4 find how many moles of it there are.
    Then looking at the equation you can see that for every mole of CH4 you need 2 moles of oxygen. This allows to calculate the moles of oxygen.
    Finally in room temperaute and pressure 1 mole of gas occupies 24 dm3.
