Worth taking a car to Manchester?

That sounds good, but surely my boyf wont be able to park there as he's got nothing to do with the uni? Unless I say his car is mine? It all sounds a bit scary. He could get the train but that would take 6 hours rather than 3.5. Hmmmm
They are plently of places to park, he may just have to park a bit further out and get walk or the get the bus.
