So, my friend gifted me expired chocolates/cookies as a present and sample soaps that said 'guest soap' written on it, like the ones you get from hotels.

When I say expired, I mean like it said it expired in 2015...

Should I let this go or should I let her know that the food she gave me was expired?

I think they know the stuff is out of date /nicked from B&Bs = a cheap skate.

I was given jars of expired stuff at my flat warming coz someone had a clear out & decided to give them to me hoping I won't notice. I'm gonna re-wrap it and give it back to them....
