my reference isn't able to complete their statement for me until next week and they have told me not to worry because they accept late submissions?

I'm basically freaking out big time, as my personal statement is complete and i can't pay because the reference section isn't filled in which is required to submit the application.

Also i'm applying for a degree in Nursing, which means places will definitely get filled up, so my chances now realistically is 0

When did you request your reference?

Could you possibly get someone else to do your reference for you? Then email the unis you are applying for to ask whether you can give additional references?

If you have no other people able to provide a reference then:

Check your university websites/contact their social media/ring them up and ask if they'll accept an application without a reference (with the reference sent through next week).

If they won't accept your application with a late reference then ask if the course is likely to be open for late applications.

Keep track of what they say. You might be lucky with the changes to nursing funding - if applications are down then there may be more places available to late applicants.

If you're going to be applying late then you MUST maximise your chances by contacting each of your choices to see if they're still open. It would be better to apply to 3 choices that are definitely open than to apply to any that are closed - that way you'll have flexibility to add other choices as you research who is open.
