Basically due to personal reasons such as homesickness and mental health issues, I have been unable to much extra work except for assignments in my first semester. Any advice from anyone in a similar situation, how many hours will I need to do per week in order to catch up? Please no "you should have done more already" I know this but I was under extreme stress. Is there still time to turn things around? Bit worried. Thanks for any help.

What extra work were you supposed to by doing?

Did you have chapter readings or unmarked tutorial questions to do? I wouldn't worry if you weren't told to do anything like that because it implies you don't need to do it. I would focus on catching up with set work if you have any. Otherwise you could reread the course notes to make sure you understand everything. You don't really have to do much else.

If you also didn't take any notes and there are none online you need to talk to student services and your lecturers to make sure you're caught up with those. If you had mental health problems that shouldn't be an issue.
