I am in year 9 and in a few months I'm choosing my options. I'm pretty certain that I want to be a hospital consultant or physciatrist when I'm older and if not that then a forensic scientist. The options I have decidied I want to take are triple science, history and computing. Although these are what I'm sure I will take, I have considered doing a language instead of computing because I feel like it will be more useful for my career path and look good on my CV since I don't have anything else that will but I struggle with languages so much and find them extremely hard to revise for. I feel like if I took it, it would take up a lot of my revision time. Do you think I should take a language ( which wokld be German ) over computing which I feel would be more useful or go with what I prefer?

I was like that, I struggled with languages and dropped Spanish in year 8 to focus on French but I never picked up a language for GCSE and took PE instead. I would personally say that I regret not taking a language so much! But the thing is, is that PE has no use to my chosen career path AT ALL. (I feel like computing does for you, a bit, however) But if your plans change (which is possible and more likely than not) then a language is probably a better, safer bet. But it's completely up to you!

If you think that you'd just end up getting a terrible grade in a language then there's no point in taking it. The same goes for any subject!

    Good luck
