Like when I'm in school, if you're choosing to take maths or one of the sciences, people will say "you must be smart". And in daily life, someone who is a physicist is deemed more intelligent than an artist or historian even though in reality, they are all equally intelligent?

The dude that can physically and mentally endure years of awful teaching to do Maths/Science rightfully gets the worship they deserve*.
*but it's not really because they're smarter..

Partly because it's easier to discern what the intelligent actions are for (more of) science.
