I was rejected for a access to NQ!! Photography course despite already having NC, ND, and NQ Media and spending a year at university in the field and having worked in local newspaper as a teenager.
I spent 10 years out due to family death and the depression that followed.
I applied for a access course, more to pass time really confident in that I had good skill though was a little rusty in the field, but as cameras are so expensive and I only have public transport I am limited in what I can do.
That and I only had 26 hours notice before interview and only finished moving house a few days earlier so things were in boxes.
The reason I was rejected by the way was my portfolio wasn't good enough.
Except my photography has won awards in the past, and been used on friends websites which they have been asked where they got the pictures from.
Before anyone says I am not big in the head thinking I am better than others, but I already have 3 qualifications in the field, work experience etc and it was outright stated in the interview that they didn't care the quality of the photos as it was a access course and knew that people were just starting out, I found out two of the other applicants neither of which own a camera, one has never even taken photos before got on the course!
It could be a excuse as they did say course was basically full, but i'd rather thtey say that than claim my portfolio was no good!
Just wanted some feedback from others here, as it seems strange to me.

This does sound strange. It could be a mistake.
Have you tried getting in contact with the college?
