It really depends on how bad your addiction is tbh. Then again, any addiction is hard to overcome and gambling is no different. If you are addicted and need help, you should aim to seek Gamblers Anonymous.

Like if you gamble £20-£50 everyday online spend hours gambling online and always asking someone for money, trust me gambling is the worst thing you can do and she won't listen she says she don't need help she's in denial

Depends on how bad you want to quit, and how badly it affects them. By the way it looks right now she wont quit so you just need to give her a reality check by the looks of it.

That's true, it affects her badly if she doesn't win she usually eats unescarry in the night, she's been doing it for over 12 years there's absolutely no hope she said she would stop in 2017, what do you mean by reality check what can I do

Cut off her source. If you're giving her money, stop. If she's gambling online, change the WiFi password. It's tough love. In the future, she'll understand. She can say she'll stop as much as she likes, but from what you're saying, there's no way she'll do it without force

Have a look at that to see if there's info on changing the password
I advise going online and finding some professional help for her as well. She won't like it, but it's what you have to do

I got so addicted i applied for credit cards and gambled 4-5 thousand. I didn't bet it in one go. Gambling addiction can be bad. It certainly strained my relationship with my husband even further. My dad use to gamble so I got told off. Was told I was as bad as him I wasn't as I stopped gambling. No support.
Get help for your mom before its too late. Still love her don't do what my family did. She's doing this to run away from problems and to get rich. Tell her she must Stop now if she cares about you. You'll realise once you quit what a difference it makes. Try online counselling for her and try finding a hobby for her and distraction . I closed all my accounts and told my self that I had gambled enough. I am a mom of a young boy who has ASD.

Trust me I know how you Must be feeling. The first step is making your mom realise that she needs help. She might get a buzz from the feeling of winning. I don't know How you can get her to see sense. I know it destroys families.

I gambled for months an for wanted to win lost money back. I didn't want anyone to find out I was in debt due to gambling. I told my husband during an argument and he got really angry and said your just like your father! That made me gamble even more as I hated him for slapping me and saying that. I saw I was losing control so tried online counselling. This lady was really sweet and she was supportive. That was my turning point. I closed my online betting accounts and selected the ban for 6 months option. I then again gambled another grand and few hundred. Again lost the money I decided to quit for good. Now I think of gambling but never bet any money. So temptation is still there but I can beat it. I hope your mom stops somehow. I think try to stop her from getting money first

Like sometimes she makes profit and in the end she ends up losing it all, it's hard to convince her to see sense a gambling addicts it's damn near impossible,

That's what most gamblers do chases their loses and end up losing more, my mum was in dept due to gambling couple years back her account was overdrawn like a grand, sorry I know how he feels my mum gambled my 21 st birthday money that was for dinner I was angry deep down but I kept it all in, he was just mad I know when my mum asks me to transfer money I just get mad with bad headaches she does it like everyday, did you go on gamcare how long was your online councilling on for, that's really bad that's a lot of money did you gamble that all in 1 day 😱, temptation is hard I'd suggest you handle someone control of your money so you don't gamble and that's gonna be hard she gets benefits and gambles online that's even worse then going in the casino etc

It must have felt sad when she gambled your 21st birthdays money away which you wanted to dine out with. I kept gambling online using a credit card so didn't realise it was actual money as at that point it wasn't coming from my bank or pocket. I gambled three grand in one go won 4.5 grand so make a profit but got greedy like masood in east Enders tv soap. I gambled all lot on another match and thought I would win but lost all lot and was then shocked.I was gambling few pounds every few minutes kept winning lost money back and losing it. I realised I was addicted. I was gambling 10 pence then more and wanted to turn it into a profit. I realised the only person winning was the betshop. I then sought free online counselling which I think was gamcare. The counsellor helped me a lot by just listening to why I was gambling and all my problems. I felt as a weight had been lifted from my chest. My husband had to clear my debt but hated me for what I had done for years. We separated but we had many issues going on.I think try telling your mom how much money she's lost over the years. As she's on benefits ideally she should be spending wisely. I use to be on benefits and know how difficult it can be. I did a foolish thing gambling and wish I had saved up. I feel like it was a trap and Im free. Gamblings a bit like being addicted to phone. If your moms gambling online try putting some gambleware software or something perhaps might be worth a try.

We still went out for dinner in the end I used the birthday money I got from other people, credit cards even worse you gotta pay all that back in the end they add interest aswell,I know masood Indian guy on eastenders used to watch that years ago, that's a lot 4.5 k gambling is just a vicious cycle you win and you lose all of it, sorry if that was me I don't know what I'll do with myself gambling should be banned in the U.K., betshops are always balling there stinking rich because of us, I heard gamcare is supposed to be really good I told my mum about it she says she don't need help, sorry about your relation gambling affects relationships badly, it's like thousands a year she's wasted she don't realise I got compansation of nearly 11k she wasted like 10k in like 6 months that's so so so bad I used like £1k on clothes though ain't gonna lie, trust me if your on benefits you have to budget for like everything you gotta spend money wisely you can't afford any luxuries, it is because when your on your phone it feels like your away from the world and how do I put 1 on the laptop mums laptop is like 9 years old it has windows vista on
