    Why?
    Women are

    1) Too fussy
    2) Too expensive
    3) Too hard to shut up.
    4) Too hard to come by
    5) Slower than my dads old Lada going up hill.

Of couese I love girls really but I just have no reason to settle down yet.

But surely, it is possible to get a girlfriend without settling down. There are certain benefits that might be of interest .

She would have to be a very special girl to be able to do that

I suppose it's more the social stuff. I'm fairly reluctant to let a lady pay for meals/admissions/drinks etc. It can mount up!

Well if you're going to insist on being gallant it's all your fault

I'd never expect a guy to pay for everything - the odd drink here and there, fine, but never everything, cos at uni everyone is in the same boat, I couldn't impose that much money on someone else.

Well at the moment I'm missing out entirely, being completely single, though I do occasionally wangle the odd free drink off my male friends. I'm just too nice and worry lots about stuff like money, so I couldn't make someone else pay for me, even if they did want to (which no-one does)

    Awwww, I'd buy you one!

I have to say, I quite like the thrill of the chase - and just having somebody to be with on nights out. Outside of that i.e commitment, living life on other people's terms sometimes - to be honest, I'm not really interested at the moment.

I'm in a rather ambiguous situation right now. I'm not entirely sure what the options are or which hypothetical option I would choose if I had the option of choosing options. Metaphorically, it's like postulating the USNavy buying French warplanes, with jet engines made by Volvo. And Israeli missiles, but Russian infra-red optic systems.

What I mean is, I have about as much of a grasp of my situation as a chimpanzee in a National Express coach, approaching the M4/M25 interchange, with Pink Floyd on the stereo, and no nachos in the cupboard.
    Your situation sounds very,very complex...

I'm single, I doubt I'll ever find a girl. On the other hand, at least I have my books.

    Simon & Garfunkel inspired?

(I Am A Rock lyrics? Slightly depressing, more so because it's too often true)

It's definitely the smuggness of others that makes it bad, I'm fine with it all until I spend time with coupled off friends!
