So my boyfriend recently went back to uni after Christmas break and since he's been gone (about 2 weeks) we have only talked three times in which all three times he stopped replying I don't want to seem needy but I miss him so much more than i would if we talked a bit more

Could you Skype him and such? My boyfriend is in his second year of university and we talk constantly, including like three hour long Skype calls. It might be worth having a chat with him explaining that you're feeling lonely. Unfortunately you do have to let him enjoy his university experience, and that does come with the risk of him actually moving on. How long have you been together?

Some people have January exams and you should acknowledge that he may be focusing on studying right now. You still talk so he's not flat out ignoring you. Maybe suggest to do Facetime or Skype
