So it sounds like a huge drill or a humungous chainsaw or grass cutter outside my f*cking window. Is it even legal to be that loud at 3.30 am????

They do them at night so they don't disrupt traffic as much.

That's nothing. Try living next to a pair of busstops with 24 hour bus routes that serve drunk people. At least road works are only temporary.

I actually do. There are 3 major clubs in a radius of 500m of my flat, two pubs right underneath. I got used to the drunk people tho

Every half an hour the night bus comes trundling past my window. It doesn't stop thankfully, but you can hear the window shake a bit as it goes along. Fine once you're asleep, seriously irritating if you aren't there yet.

I live next to train tracks. The maintenance is done at odd hours in the morning. It's horrible.

Use a fan if you have. It will drone out the noises.
