I am currently employed by a school on a temporary contract. I understand one referee needs to be a head teacher, if my current employer is a school. Can the second be the head of department? The reason I would like this is because the alternative is using my previous employer in an unrelated industry; however, it would not be my manager - it would be the CEO of a marketing company, who will have far less knowledge about my suitability as a teacher.

    Thanks in advance.
