V1101 – Incest Decriminalisation Bill 2017 (Amended Second Reading), ByronicHero (seconded by joecphillips MP)
    Incest Decriminalisation Bill 2017

BE IT ENACTED by The Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Commons in this present Parliament assembled, in accordance with the provisions of the Parliament Acts 1911 and 1949, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

    1. Incest

    (1) For the purposes of this bill, incest is defined as sex, whether heterosexual or homosexual, between a person of at least 21 years of age and their parent, grandparent, child, grandchild, sibling, half-sibling, uncle, aunt, nephew or niece, who are also age 21 or above.
    (2) Such actions are no longer an offence.

    2. Awareness

    (1) Upon commencement, every household in the United Kingdom is sent an information pack outlining the change in the law, factual information about sexual health issues, and details of how people can locally access contraception and abortion support. Additionally, this information is made available online; a section on the NHS website is created, dedicated to informing people about the factual realities of incestuous relationships, and their possible consequences.

    3. Commencement, short title and extent

    (1) This may be cited as the Incest Decriminalisation Act 2017
    (2) This act shall extend to England; and
    (3) Shall come into force immediately following Royal Assent; and
    (4) Shall be provided to the Welsh Assembly Government for their consideration; and
    (5) Subject to changes made by the National Assembly for Wales; and
    (6) Subject to an affirmative vote shall come into force immediately following Royal Assent.

I'm all for minimal government interference in people's lives, but this is just ridiculous.

This bill will lead to more birth defects, placing more children in suffering, increasing demand on the NHS to treat birth defects, and will legitimise incest.

I'm all for giving people the freedom, but there's a reason why immediate family relationships are illegal.

Dear Liberal party members who are voting nay: take a ****ing look in the mirror and ask yourselves if you're really in the right party.

    Disgusting idea.

That said, Aye. Freedom and all.

PS. Considering the proposer argued his case to such a high standard it is disappointing that no thought went into the costing. It was almost an offensive enough betrayal of the seriousness of the issue to make me vote against. That said, a generous concession on raising the age to 21 was made and so - true to my word - I will vote in favour.

At least the Socialists can now expand on their prison porn collection scheme and add incest to kiddie.
