We have been given a week off at school for work experience. I would like to go into politics and I've already spent a week with my MP. Does anyone have any suggestions on places to go that would boost my UCAS statement?

The houses of commons/lords offer work experience but they tend to be quite popular (and run on specific dates).

You could shadow a local councillor. Or try to find a placement with a lobbying organisation (charity or otherwise).

Alternatively a placement at your local newspaper covering local politics or in the press office of a large organisation would be interesting and useful.
