I just received an email from the UCL portal that they need additional information with a document attached which talks about the PPE course choices. Also I can tick my focus in the course.

Is this an offer because on UCAS there is no update whatsoever? Or will there be an offer? Is this good/bad/irrelevant?

    Thanks for any help

It's a standard procedure for all applicants. It does not guarantee anything.

They would not have reviewed your entire application that quickly and make a decision that quickly. It is most probably something they ask for all PPE students who have applied

I would be surprised too, but I was just wondering...

          That´s the doc btw

Thank you for your application to the Philosophy, Politics and Economics BSc (PPE).

A particular attraction of the PPE course at UCL is that it aims to provide grounding in the three disciplines and permits you to optimise your degree to particular interests and career objectives. Distinctive features of the degree are the strong element of student choice, its policy orientation and a fourth methods ‘pillar.’

Your choices start now with two decisions about disciplinary concentration and the methods streams you wish to pursue. To help you with your selections please consider the following information.

          Disciplinary concentration:

All students study Politics and choose a disciplinary concentration for their degree.

Information on the module content in the two disciplines is available from Philosophy http://www.ucl.ac.uk/philosophy and Economics websites http://www.ac.uk/economics

If in doubt choose the Politics and Economics option and take the Introduction to Mathematics for Economists (you would not be able to switch into this concentration without this module).

          Methods stream:

The PPE degree has a sustained policy and methods pillar. Students may opt for a breadth of methods modules including qualitative, quantitative, and policy analytical methods or they may wish to specialise with the separate quantitative methods (QM) stream supported by the new Q-Step Quantitative Methods Centre on which further information can be found at http://www.ucl.ac.uk/q-step

I have no idea but I doubt it. Otherwise they would say so. Universities don't ask trick questions.

          Usually.
