Have you been inspired by TV, Anime, Movies or another medium to pick up an instrument or learn particular pieces?

    I certainly have.

I learnt Chopin's Nocturne in C# minor around 4 years ago after watching The Pianist. That film also introduced his Ballade no 1 in G minor and I've since nurtured a desire to learn the piece (though I am still far off in technical ability). More recently, I rediscovered my love for the piece after watching the anime Your lie in April which features the piece in its emotive finale.
Other pieces from Your lie in April which hold great appeal are Chopin's Winter Wind Etude (op 25 no 11) and his Torrent etude (op 10 no 4) and lastly his Wrong note Etude (op 25 no 5).

Comment bellow if you've been inspired similarly. Either by a performance by a musician in the visual medium or by some theme music that learnt to cover on your instrument. I know Time by Hans Zimmer was all the rage 4 years ago!
