Hello, i've applied to five unis and had offers from them. Sheffield, Leeds, Lancaster, Newcastle and York.
There are no league tables for English Language? I feel like I have chosen some, if not the best for English Language? Could anyone help?

Pick unis with course that interest you. League tables don't mean much. They're all fairly good unis anyway.

You're right, there isn't a separate league table entry for English Language; it usually comes under linguistics. You'll find that the content of many courses can overlap, esp in the more applied aspects of linguistics.

The search for the best uni is likely to draw blanks as it's so subjective, so why not check out the best course, rather than uni? The complete uni guide is a good place to start, then pay a visit to your shortlisted days.

Pick your course based on the modules you will study and the content that will interest you the most - so many rankings are subjective - it's what you think that's important, not anyone else xx

I'm doing English Language at uni and I agree with what Tmski said.

Try to look for in which department of the uni the degree English Language is. It varies from uni to uni and can be in the Linguistics Department or English Department. Only after do you look for the legaue table for that subject. The league table should reflect the reputation of the whole department rather than individual subjects (just my personal opinion).

I'd be incredibly happy with offers from any of the unis you mention. Well done!
