How to sweep a UK girl off her feet?

Hey,

As a new comer to UK soil from Asia, it is pretty hard to make UK friends(girls or boys)whenever in daytime or at night. Especially,I found its a little bit hard to make a conversation going on when I tried to be close to a girl when she comes from UK or other EU countries.Whatever reasons are, if a foreigner like to meet some friends here, anybody can help me out? I am seeking your advices to help me.

Thanks.

Are you the guy angling for a car trip to Reading?

EDIT:

You seem pretty intent on "making friends".

Avoid using the term "chicks" - it invites a slap from some ladies.

I'm intrigued by your use of words sometimes - from the last thread "maybe we can make friends along the way", from this thread "tried to get close to her". Can't fault you for effort though, mate.

yeah,the same one.

are u checking the site by magnifying glass? cool, man.

maybe,im not native, sometimes dont know how to say sth in your ways.
I wish I could give you some advice. If you were British, I'd tell you to come to the USA. Here, all a British man needs to do is open his mouth and let his accent be heard. American girls practically gang-rape anyone with a British accent.

Ok, maybe that's a bit of a stretch, but they do love the accent.

No, no, pretty accurate. I am an american girl and I see no fallacy in that statement.

Yeah? I can do a dead-on impersonation I perfected while over there. Maybe I should talk like that all the time

Yearspan, English a difficult language to learn, especially for someone from Asia. When I reread your post, I got the feeling that you might not be fluent in English. I may be wrong, but that might be what is holding you back. The best advice I can give you is to try to learn the language as well as you can. It will make conversation much easier and more natural. I think it can will open some doors for you and may help you socially.

Goodluck! I hope things get better for you.

Even if they talked like Leslie Phillips?

British people my know him, an actor with a 'posh' accent. Most here will not know him.

Reminds me of the movie Love Actually. Does it work the same way with american guys and british women?

Thats it. I'm moving to America. Does the same effect happen in Canada because I've always wanted to live there?

I'm a fan of american accents too but I was wondering whether american guys felt as strongly about british women as american girls do about british guys. I don't believe I can tell the difference between different english accents =/

Exactly. I love the story with the foreign girl....oh and the porn stars, that was class. Hugh Grant really rubs me up the wrong way though; i'd have enjoyed it more if it wasn't for him.

it was the little kid that annoyed me most, his eyes were just so wierd

but the highlight of the film is kiera knightley, she's amazing, liked that story as well
