I have applied to do a Msc in Human Resource Management at the Robert Gordon University. I am told it is ineligible for the advanced learner loan because of the length of the course, which I find daft. I am now stuck as to what, if any help I can apply for. I really would like to do this course and am just finding that there is too much red tape stopping people like me from learning.

    Hi,

Was it the Postgraduate Loan you applied for? If so, any part-time course must be no more than double the duration of the full-time equivalent. (For example: if the full-time course shows on our system as 1 Year; the part-time equivalent must be 2 Years).

It may be best speaking with the university in this case - they may have more advice or assistance for you.

    Thanks!

The distance learning cours e is 3 years and the full time course is 1 year, so this will be why it isnt eligible, although I really don't see what difference it makes, as long as I pay the fees, what is the issue.

    Hi Mhezz

These are the regulations for funding I'm afraid. If there is a 2-year option you maybe able to get funding this that?

    Thanks
