I plan on applying for the Cambridge Physics course via the Sutton Trust Summer School scheme and looking at the requirements, fear I am too well-off to be accepted.

I have 6A*s and 3As at GCSE level and am studying the appropriate A-Level courses. My secondary school and sixth form are both a little below the national average. My mum attended university and is a primary school teacher, my dad is an immigrant with no qualifications and works as a minimum wage labourer. They're divorced. My brother is younger than me so hasn't been to university. I live in a semi-rural town full of mostly old people and low academic achievement for young people.

Do you think I am too well-off for the Sutton Trust Summer School? I don't want to take someone's opportunity unfairly. Has anyone else been in a similar position and been accepted?

    Thank you.

I was rejected last year, I can only think the reason would be the area I'm from, despite not being privileged. That was the reason UNIQ give me too. Based on your background and academics you probably have a good shot!

Thanks! I will defiantly apply. When I look at the promo videos for the Summer Schools, they always emphasise how none of their parents went to University.
