Is this a good sign from a hiring manager Watch

I had what I thought was a great interview and was told I would be contacted Tuesday morning with the outcome.

Tuesday went without a call so I emailed early this morning to ask if there was an update on the result of my interview.

HR got back immediately saying the hiring manager was off and would be back in the office on Friday and would call then.

Just now (weirdly at 9pm) the hiring manager has responded to my email (must have been forwarded to her) saying she was sorry she was unable to ring on Tuesday and will call me on Friday afternoon to discuss the outcome of my interview.

Is this a good sign? If I'd been unsuccessful would she not have emailed saying so instead of keeping me waiting until Friday?

She had used her work phone to respond to my email. I presume she is at home and on annual leave.

Seems like a good sign to me but I wouldn't give up on my hopes too soon! Don't automatically assume that it is a good sign, but be happy and humble regardless of the outcome. Although, in my experience if they answer back to you personally then it is a good sign. Good luck anyways
