How do resits appear on your record?

I had 2 A level edexcel exams on a physics unit and a math unit that I missed the other day because I fell ill (vomited throughout the day). I don't know if I can get a doctors note.

I still have until June to do these units so I know I can retake them, I'm just wondering:

a. how the missed exam will look on my record
b. whether retaking the exams will be able to replace the grade on those missed exams

Retaking will replace the grades as the best of ur last 2 results will be taken for the final result
