Liverpool Hope - Reading list?

Hey, I'm starting English Lit at Liverpool Hope uni in a few weeks, does anyone know if we should have a reading list? Cos I haven't heard anything from the uni.

No, they will give you one on yourfirst lecture. I dropped out after the 1st wk but i can remember getting that list on the first lecture.

If I e-mail the uni asking do you reckon they would e-mail a list back? I wouldn't mind getting some of the course reading out of the way before I get there!!! So then I would be prepared and then relax a lil during freshers, and relax a lil more after that because all of the reading is out of the way...Also don't quite get that credits system. I am doing 1 subject and so that is 60 credits, but when I enrolled it came up with 2 modules and 120 credits...am confused by this!?!?!

You could try e-mailing them, see what they say. It would be good to get some of the reading done before hand. I had the same thing, the whole points/credits thing confuses me. When I registered it came up with two modules, introduction to Eng Lan, which confused me as I didn't know that would be part of the course, and something else which I can't remember. Its all confusing lol

be happy wiv 2 modules lol i had to get 120 credits in john moores from about 6 modules lol i was doing combined honours law and criminal justice and had to do these 2 pointless modules cnt even remember their names coz they bored me that much, basically it was learning about how to use a programme on the university computers to find cases and things like that and another one which was basically showing us how to write an essay....because as we r all 18/19 years of age and have done a-levels we have never wrote a essay before lol then i had to do foundations, criminal law, public law and the criminal justice process!!! I was shocked to see i only had 2 modules 4 doin another combined course at Hope, i'm actually quite pleased!!! I had to have books 4 all these modules, and as law books r proper expensive it didnt work too well on the bank balance lol!! Its actually not that confusing when u think about it lol!!

I think I would prefer more modules though tbh..a little more variety in content, however really don't get the genre studies think I am signed up for...is this part of lang or a completely different course?

i should think it will be part of the course, even though it says introduction to english language it could still be part of lit as it may just mean to the english language in general rather than studying english language if u get me, i know what i mean but ive probably just confused u haha!!

The introduction to english language is part of the English Language course...I only know that because I am doing English Language. I know that the first year course is only 60credits though, so have they just 'shoved' us onto another course to make up the credits, or will they let us choose when we get there?

it will be part of the course, if you wer only doin 1 module you would hardly ever be in uni really would ya...so they must do the 2 modules too an i think i heard sumwer to be classed as a student ya have to be in uni 4 a certain amount of hours a week so it mite be to do with that!!
