this road marking means that you have to give way to traffic on the major road, but can you move from the major road onto this road or is it always from the road into the major road?

just wanted to clarify this since sometimes i see junctions with just this road marking and not a single dashed road marking to move into.

    Thanks!

Unless there's a no entry sign it's perfectly fine to turn from the major road into the minor in this situation

To add to this, many times you are not allowed to turn into a side road from a particular direction in the traffic. It will be signposted if this is the case, however.

Good point, in that case you should see a no left/right turn sign (as appropriate)

If you're not allowed to somewhere there will be signs saying so
