Yo. So I did my Maths GCSE and my Maths-Numeracy GCSE early in November (In Wales there are two Maths GCSEs and they run in November) and today I got the results and I had A* in both (I AM OVER THE MOON, I NEVER THOUGHT I'D GET THAT IN MATHS ).

But, the results had points next to them, I've never seen this before because I've only had results for individual modules in Bio, Chem, Phys and Geog. All people with A*s had 58, all people will As had 52 and all people with Bs had 46 etc. Does anyone know what these points actually mean? Do they benefit me? My teacher didn't really seem sure. And they're not UMS marks or anything like that.

They're basically a measurement of performance that I think is used to compare results across schools.

An A* is worth 58 points, and every grade below is worth 6 points less than the one above it.

In other words they're nothing to worry about. Congrats on the A*s though!
