I've been accepted onto an Early childhood degeee at the University of Gloucestershire - UCAS code X312.

At the end of the 3 year degree, do you gain EYTS / early years teaching status?

Would love to hear people's views on how they found the course and where they are now if they've graduated!

    TIA x

    Hi,

If it is the University of Gloucestershire that you have been accepted on to, then you are best posting your question in their forum at https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=857.

If you have received an offer from us for the Early Years and Childhood Studies Degree, then you have the option in Year 1 to choose the specialist practice route. This route will lead to recognition as an Early Years Educator (EYE).

Unfortunately the course does not give you EYTS. You would need to go on to further training such as a PGCE in Early Years to gain EYTS/QTS status.

Any more questions just let me know

    Hi Mumofone,

The Early Childhood Studies degree does not come with EYTS. If you want to be a teacher then you would need to do a PGCE course after your degree.

Hope this helps, just shout if you have any other questions
