I am looking to enrol in a distance learning HND in Business within the next couple of months. I have come across a few options, but there is only one college offering it with EdExcel the awarding body. All the others are ATHE but I have never heard of them. The EdExcel is much more expensive which is no problem, but I am wondering if ATHE is a fully recognised awarding body and will allow me to transfer credits to top this up to a full degree. Has anybody studied with this examining board and would you recommend them over EdExcel?

Hello.ATHE is indeed a fully recognised awarding body. You can check whether an awarding body is Ofqual regulated by going to their website https://register.ofqual.gov.uk/Detai...=organisations

I've been looking in to distance learning ATHE level 4&5 business management with the open college in the view to complete a degree top up. I've done some research and correct me if I'm wrong but only a handful of unis will except it. The open college claim the qualification is equivalent to 1st and 2nd year of uni degree. I like the price as it is cheaper than a HND or open university and others but is it worth itLast edited by Sezzaf; 25-04-2018 at 12:30.
There are quite a number of universities that will accept ATHE qualifications as they are on the RQF, Regulated Qualifications Framework. It only takes a call to check with them.
I would suggest using ATHE's find a centre form on their website to ensure that you are studying through a bona fide recognised centre.
