    Hey

I have terrible anxiety issues and I hate being trapped. I get panic attacks in car journeys and plane flights are just not possible for me anymore, and I've been to America when I was younger. I guess being a small child makes you not think of what's happening...anyway what happens if I panic during lectures in a small confined hall? Its small and semicircle and feels like everyone is looking at you..

Sit at the back then you can be sure nobody is looking at you. Or remind yourself that people aren't looking at you and that they have better things to do like focusing on the lecture.

Why would everyone be looking at you u lol ? They'd be looking at the lecturer or their phones and u can easily look at ppl' faces to see that's they're not all staring at u

I've had anxiety at uni in the past. You can as the poster above said, change where you sit. I always found it helpful to sit at the front and at the end of the row. I don't know why but I felt more comfortable there. Take water in with you, when i'm nervous I always find keeping well hydrated helps. Most important of all though is to work at focusing on the lecture and not what you're feeling inside. It takes a bit of practise but if you can do that you'll start to forget the worrying thoughts.

Sit somewhere where you have easy access to an exit.

Although you should try meds or/ and therapy in the long-term to solve the problem.

Hey, I'm sorry to hear about your anxiety. I have had similar experiences in lecture theatres/planes/subways etc.
I spoke to my tutor who gave me a time out card to put on my table during seminars so that I can leave for a breather if I needed to. They also informed all of my lecturers that I will sit by the exit and may need to leave suddenly. Just having that safety net really helped me feel less trapped.
I hope it eases up soon

perhaps the Uni could arrange a video link so you would not have to be physically present at the lectures ?
