    hello!

im currently studying HND Mechanical Engineering and doing well so my hope is to be accepted into 3rd year of a BEng in 1 of the many different engineering subjects available at both Aberdeen and RGU.
RGU to me seems to be more of a "further" college if i can call it that. It looks like the unitsa i'll study are just extensions of what i'm doing now. Aberdeen however has completely different units, even in the 1st and 2nd years. they also include "sixth century courses" and disciplinary depth and sustained study.

can anyone explain these units that are required in addition to the standard engineering units, and also why the RGU degree is so different despite both being accredited?

    thank you

Accredited by who and what does that actually mean in industry? Unis may call units different things but it's what's covered that's important. If they're both accredited then they both meet the requirements for accreditation so you should be fine. Pick the course that's more interesting. And yes you may end up studying things that sound similar to what you're doing now in more detail but again think about whether you want depth of subject coverage or breadth?
