Dress code for Freshers Ball???

Does anyone know how we're expected to dress??? I thought seeing as it was a ball it would be quite formal but it's being held in a club so i'm guessing not . In the student union pack thing there was a picture of the freshers ball and the boys were all wearing suits with bow ties I couldn't really make out what the girls were wearing....but i don't know if that's the same thing. :s-smilie:

I know it's probably pathetic to worry about this but i really don't want to have to go hunting for a dress when I get up to London.

How is it a ball if it's basically the same a every other freshers event minus fancy dress :indiff:

Since its being held in a club, its probably just going to be like any other club where people dress casually and not so much a 'ball' as in tuxedos etc.
Anyway, ill still take my suit just in case.

If they want us to wear a suit I'm not going, look like such a goon dancing with suits on XD. I'm just gonna head to fabric with some second years or something if its too formal

lol good point about the dancing :bang:

Im going to where a suit with a gimpsuit on underneath, that way if they are taking the piss and everyone is wearing a suit in a club i can go one step further..

I thought the picture when they're in dinner suits was of the summer ball? shrug.
Will a tee shirt with a suit printed on do? I mean that's meetin it half way. I think we're only supposed to wear a suit on the cruise thing at the end, otherwise I'm just gonna wear what I like.

It said freshers finale across it and so i assumed it meant the freshers ball....even though it's not the last event this year  . The summer ball is outside near that big white building thing.

guys, even if most people will wear a suit they won't say anything if you don't... just wear a shirt and it will be okay
Are any of the events not just rave type things in a club?
