When 'combination ' is abbreviated, why do we say 'combo' and not 'combi '?

Because words that end in an 'i/ee' sound in English tend to sound cutesy (grammatically; a diminuitive) and since combo is not intented to be like that, they simply shortened the syllables & letters to combo instead.

Because Jessica is my name and I can personalise it if I want to.

Combination hasn't given anyone permission to personalise their name though.

Combination is entitled to be called Combo, Combi, Kumbaya or whatever

My theory is that combo is a mix of "combination" and "of", hence the "o".....or something
