So I am running for Head Girl out of 5 other candidates, and I've just written all my speech. I'm restricted to 2 minutes for my speech, but I've just read it out aloud and it has taken me 2 minutes 30 seconds, so I need to cut down stuff! Also, I'm really bad at public speaking, so does anyone have any tips? Thanks so much, it would be great if anyone could reply ASAP!

With public speaking, the trick is to practice a lot until you are confident in speaking in front of a crowd. You should try to practice in front of family or friends so they can give you tips on how to improve and it will give you experience in speaking in front of people. When you get to the actual speech, just pretend you're speaking in front your family or friends. That was what I did for several presentations I had to do.

Don't over think the situation, just remain calm and take deep breaths before you start and always keep your eye on your audience. Use hand movements to emphasise some points as well. Don't forget to speak loudly, don't whisper

    Good luck
