Anyone that has already done this please help me out what businesses are good to find loads of information, on topics on like

Examples of issues/analytical techniques could include:
How effective is the product portfolio of xxx?
A SWOT analysis of xxx to assess its current position.
Product extension strategies used by xxx to maintain/increase its market
    share of xxx (a product).
What quality measures should xxx use to maintain/increase customer
    satisfaction?

What business and topic did you choose and found excellent information on? Thanks in advance really appreciate it.

Tesco is my go to business, you'll never fail to find resources and information on Tesco online.

If you can, try to do new businesses and unique ones, makes it more fun tbh as you're not droning on about generic businesses all the time.

Any companies that have been through big changes or failings - or that have done really well. Ultimately these firms have been researched by scholars to find out the reasons for their successes or failures focusing on specific things like your examples. Companies like Apple, Amazon, the Royal Mail, P&G and the like.

Alternatively, look for casestudies! Comet is a really good one - going from forefront of technology driving the UK, to ultimately dying because it failed to evolve with technology (among other things). A mixture of the wrong product, poor customer service, being unable to compete with Walmart/ASDA among other things killed them off. This was despite an expensive rebounding effort and new customer service strategy... You could do some reading around this and it's failings to identify what's important to be sustainable in business/identify trends and then look to companies which have nailed it and continuously reinvented themselves in order to consistently make a profit.
