hi for these two graph , my sketch is a bit different to the one shown on Desmo. I dont get why the branch -2x-1 has the same steepness as the branch 2x-1.

Well strictly speaking the "steepness" is not the same.

Modulus here requires you to reflect

2x+1

in the line

y=-\frac{1}{2}
