    i was waiting on traffic lights there is red yellow green and straight green arrow the light is still red but arrow is green and i was proceed in green straight arrow is it right or not i am bit confuse thank u.

    Could you go onto Google Maps and show us the road in street view? This usually implies there's two lanes which are controlled independently by the same set of lights, therefore, if you were in the lane to go straight on, you were okay to go.

    So Kinda like this you mean? In this instance people in the right hand lane can turn right but the other lane have to stop until their light turns green

    OP mentions that the arrow is straight, and I can only assume they mean this:


    This implies that straight on is a filter lane, and the other lane is the main direction - it's rare, but happens.

    Plenty of these in central london. Usually see them when, like you said, there are dedicated straight on lanes.

    The OP probably came across something like this. Obviously, this one is mid sequence, but the green arrow comes on while the red light is still shown.




    The idea behind these is no different than that of a normal filter light. When the arrow for ahead is lit, those in the lane for going ahead can go.
